The best way to get started, is to email or schedule a call to discuss the specifics of your project. This gives you the opportunity to teach me about your event and let me know exactly what lettering needs you have. The more details you can give me the better!
If you require an estimate, I am happy to put one together for you so you can see all of the associated costs with the project. I’m a big fan of no surprises! From there we can discuss the timeline to make sure it will work for you.
If everything looks good to you, we will look for the right spot on my schedule and start going over the details of what I need to get started.
Shortly before your paper is due in, I will email you to confirm everything is on schedule to arrive before your scheduled calendar spot and that I have all of the information I need to get started. Then you just sit back and let me take care of everything.
If we are working on custom designs, I will contact you to discuss and then after a 50% deposit is sent in I will start the sketching process. Once approved, we are ready to go to print and I will prepare the files in any format you need. I can send them to your printer or take care of having the printing done for you. Whatever works for you!
Once everything is finished, I will let you know and so you can get ready for your special delivery.
How should I format foreign addresses?
Please consult the USPS website for guidance. All foreign addresses must be in word .doc format even if the main list is in Excel. It eliminates potential formatting issues.
What should I do if I don’t have someone’s complete address?
If there are any addresses about which you are uncertain, please put them at the end of the list with the heading “Incomplete Addresses”. Rather than sending several additional names and addresses, I prefer you send updated lists. That makes it easier for me to keep track of the guests.
How much stationery should I order?
An additional 20% is required to provide for any changes, add-ons, or corrections.
What kind of stationery is best suited for hand lettering?
Please consult with your stationer to ensure that the paper you choose is compatible with hand lettering. It is best to send me a sample of any paper you choose before starting to be certain that it will accept the ink that you choose.
What are the payment terms?
There is a 50% deposit due with order. The balance is due prior to the order being shipped.
Can I send additional names after my order is done?
Absolutely! Please note, any additions made after the job is completed will incur a $25 setup fee in addition to the cost items that require calligraphy.
Are there any shipping costs?
Standard UPS shipping fees apply.
I have a special ink I would like you to use. Can I send it?
Although I can appreciate falling in love with a beautiful ink, I have spent many years curating the finest calligraphy supplies to make your pieces gorgeous, and I don’t accept any supplies from clients.
Are all papers suitable for hand calligraphy?
No, not all are. If hand calligraphy is not an option on your paper, I will let you know before getting started.
