Wedding Calligraphy

Hand-lettered elegant wedding calligraphy

It's an honor to be part of a wedding day, to contribute hand-lettered details that add elegance and beauty. I love collaborating with couples and creative planners on the wedding décor and design, bringing a fully custom touch that elevates the celebration.

All my wedding calligraphy is done by hand, in pen and ink. That includes:

• Wedding invitation calligraphy & envelopes
• Place cards
• Escort cards
• Table numbers
• Menus

Whether your celebration is an intimate gathering or a large-scale wedding, I offer calligraphy for wedding details of every kind, each piece designed and lettered for you.

How I work

As your wedding calligrapher, it begins with an email introduction and a few questions. You'll fill out a questionnaire so I can understand your vision for the event, and then send you a custom quote. Once you accept, we'll map out the timeline together: what I need from you, and when.

I work from my studio in Morris County, New Jersey, just outside New York City, at the same desk where I first fell in love with calligraphy and where every design still begins. Most wedding calligraphy is completed in my studio, so I'm happy to work with couples across NJ, NYC, across the USA and beyond.

"Barbara created so many beautiful pieces for my wedding day. She immediately understood my vision and surpassed all of my expectations! She is so kind of professional and made the entire process so fun and enjoyable. She is the best of the best!"

- Is hand calligraphy worth the investment for a wedding?

Hand calligraphy is one of the thoughtful, purposeful layers of detail that make a wedding feel truly memorable. Guests may not consciously notice it, but they register it. In a world of mass-produced things, something made by hand feels more authentic and luxurious.

Yes. I'm based in Morris County, New Jersey, just outside New York City, and most wedding calligraphy is completed in my studio, so I work with couples across the US and beyond.

- How should I format foreign addresses?

Please consult the USPS website for guidance. All foreign addresses must be provided in Word .doc format, even if the main list is in Excel. This eliminates potential formatting issues.

- What should I do if I don't have someone's complete address?

Put any uncertain addresses at the end of your list under the heading "Incomplete Addresses." Rather than sending several additional names and addresses, please send updated lists. It makes it easier to keep track of your guests.

- How much extra stationery should I order?

An additional 20% is required to provide for any changes, add-ons, or corrections.
